Humuza Bazira
Dancer

Born and raised in British Columbia, Canada, Humuza has been dancing for three and a half years and hasn’t stopped since. Although he spends a large portion of his time dancing, he has many other qualifications. He is also an athlete with a lengthy history of playing competitive soccer. He played soccer for eleven years in the second highest youth soccer league in the province. However, due to an injury suffered while playing he resigned from soccer to focus on dance. He is also a classical pianist and has been studying classical piano since he was seven years old. He has competed in many piano festivals and accumulated a plethora of accolades, medals and piano scholarships.

Dance was something that happened by chance. In Grade 8, Humuza had to select an elective so he chose dance. He was a little apprehensive, having never had any dance training, but he gave it a try. He started in beginner dance class and within three years he went from performing on stage for parents and schoolmates to performing for celebrity judges.

Humuza trains under the tutelage of AJ Megaman with Megabots and Gigabots. Most recently Gigabots was featured in NBC’s World of Dance Season 4. He also trains and dances for Studio North Dance Complex with Brotherhood Varsity. In school, he coaches the senior hip hop team and he is also a teaching assistant in curriculum dance courses.

Humuza will be attending Grade 12 in the fall. He is an academic student and has been on the honour roll throughout his schooling. Humuza works hard at everything he does carefully balancing dance, music and academics.
